01The short version
This is a small marketing website. The only data we collect about your visit is anonymous traffic analytics through Google Analytics — pageviews, referrers, the type of browser you’re using, the country you’re visiting from. We don’t run ads, we don’t sell data, we don’t have user accounts, and there’s nothing on this site to log into.
If you email us, we keep the email so we can write back. That’s the whole story.
02What we collect
When you visit luminarlab.com, the following information is collected automatically by Google Analytics on our behalf:
- Pageviews
- Which pages you visited and in what order, and how long you stayed.
- Referrer
- The site or search engine that sent you here, if any.
- Device & browser
- Browser name and version, operating system, screen size, and language preference.
- Approximate location
- Country and region, derived from your IP address. We don’t store your full IP.
- Email correspondence
- If you write to contact@luminarlab.com or any other address listed on this site, we keep your message.
03What we don’t collect
- We don’t use advertising or remarketing pixels. There are no Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, or X tracking tags on this site.
- We don’t sell or share data with third parties for marketing.
- We don’t have user accounts, comments, forms, or anything else for you to fill in.
- We don’t fingerprint your browser or attempt to identify you across sites.
04Cookies
This website uses a small number of cookies set by Google Analytics to distinguish anonymous visitors and remember whether you’re a returning one. We don’t set any cookies of our own.
You can block these at any time using your browser’s settings or any standard ad/tracker blocker — the website will work exactly the same.
05Why we collect it
The analytics exists for one reason: to know whether anyone is reading the page, and roughly where they came from. We use it to decide whether the homepage is worth updating and to spot when something on the site is broken.
We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or any kind of personalized experience.
06Who sees it
The only third party involved in operating this website is:
- Google Analytics — aggregate website analytics. Data is processed under Google’s standard terms and retained according to their default settings. See Google’s privacy policy for details.
Aside from this, your data stays with us. We will only disclose information if compelled by a valid legal request, and we’ll push back on overbroad ones.
07How long we keep it
- Analytics
- Retained at the aggregate level by Google Analytics for 14 months, then deleted.
- Email correspondence
- Kept while your conversation is active, archived after 12 months.
08Your rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- Opt out of analytics. Use any browser-level tracker blocker, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.
- Ask what we have on you — though for a website-only visit, the answer is generally “nothing personal.”
- Ask us to delete email correspondence. We’ll do it within 30 days.
If you’re in the EU, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with formal data rights, this section is in addition to those, not instead of them.
09Changes to this policy
We’ll update this page when something material changes — for example, if we add or remove an analytics provider. The version and effective date at the top will move.
